Octobers Creative Academy is aimed at boosting child development in English as a Second Language (ESL) using songs and theatre-based techniques, games, and Total Physical Response (TPR). Our unique children’s theatre and language courses combine drama, music, role-play, storytelling, language activities, and much more, to make English language learning a new and exciting experience for children of all ages and abilities..

The performing arts are an excellent tool for allowing students to express themselves, develop their critical thinking skills, enhance self-confidence and improve the life skill of improvisation. When working on a piece of theatre or song, students are exposed to various situations, cultures and experiences, which enable them to grow as individuals. Working towards a theatrical performance requires discipline, commitment and teamwork, all of which will help our students with their ongoing development. Students will also become more self-assured, expressive, sociable and imaginative and they will learn how to tackle situations with resilience, creativity and courage.

“Throughout the curriculum our students will be exposed to various performance-based skills including but not limited to: storytelling, speech exercises, expressive poetry, characterization, dance and movement, singing and music exploration, working from stimuli and creating an original story. At the end of each project family and friends will be invited to attend a performance evening to see all that our students have achieved. Students love to showcase what they have learned and it’s a pleasure to be able to share this with their parents, friends and family. At all of these performances the children will blossom with increased confidence and self-esteem as they demonstrate their latest acting skills, singing and showing their true Creative Courage For Life.”.

Students can expect a warm and friendly welcome. Each class is small to allow our teachers to give each child support and attention. Students are expected to attend regularly and will be required to wear the O.C.A branded t-shirts, which can be purchased at any of our center. We also encourage students to bring water (in a re-sealable bottle) and snacks that they can enjoy at break time. Parents with any specific queries can feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help. We will keep parents up to date with their child’s progress and will invite them to attend their child’s performances.

Your child is in safe hands at any of our center. We have a clear commitment to child protection and the safeguarding of our students is of the highest priority.

The programs are schedule for Saturdays from 4pm till 5:30pm and Sundays 9:30am till 11am .
